Composed Fluid Loss Additive
When carrying out offshore cementing, deep well cementing or high-salinity formation construction, improper control of slurry filtrate loss often triggers casing leakage, gas channeling and well sealing failure. Our composed fluid loss additive is developed to fix these practical downhole pain points. All grades are synthesized by copolymerizing AMPS-based monomers with multiple anti-salt, anti-hydrolysis functional segments, with high-adsorption groups like −CONH₂, −SO₃H and −COOH distributed evenly on polymer molecular chains. These active groups can lock free water in cement slurry efficiently, stop liquid phase from leaking into porous formations, and keep slurry stable under complex temperature and salinity environments.
Different from single-functional filtrate control chemicals, this set of oil well cement fluid loss additives is formulated in targeted ways to match global oilfield construction habits. Temperature resistance ranges from 150℃ to 230℃, supporting fresh water, brine and seawater slurry preparation respectively. Every formula has passed repeated compatibility tests with retarders, dispersants, suspension agents and anti-gas migration additives, which allows field engineers to adjust cementing schemes freely according to actual well conditions. These products have been widely adopted in domestic onshore & offshore oilfields, the Middle East, North America and Russia after years of field verification.
Core Practical Advantages
1. Wide Temperature & Salinity Adaptation For Diversified Working Conditions
We divide the whole series into low, medium and high temperature resistant grades to cover most common cementing scenarios. The lowest temperature-resistant model FC-620S can work steadily up to 150℃, which is specially optimized for seawater cementing projects under offshore working conditions. Most conventional grades can resist temperatures up to 180℃, while our high-temperature modified formulas including FC-610S, FC-631S, FC-632S, FC-634S, FC-650S and FC-651S can run continuously at 230℃ without thermal degradation.
For offshore projects with high mineralized seawater, salt-resistant molecular structures are embedded in polymer chains to avoid performance failure caused by ion interference. Even in high-density cement slurry prepared with seawater, our cement fluid loss control agent can still maintain stable filtrate reduction capacity without premature coagulation or excessive free water.
2. Excellent Dispersion & Suspension Performance For Special Slurry Systems
FC-620S stands out in this series for its strong dispersing capacity. Without adding extra dispersant, it helps prepare cement slurry with a density ratio between 2.0 and 2.1 directly using API class G cement. This feature makes it highly suitable for high-solid-content slurry or formulas with a large proportion of ultrafine filling materials, which is exactly why it has become the preferred filtrate reducer for CNOOC offshore cementing projects.
Several high-temperature grades such as FC-631S, FC-632S and FC-634S are designed with proper low-shear viscosity. They can effectively prevent solid phase settlement in long-distance pumping construction, and deliver reliable anti-gas channeling performance during static waiting-on-cement periods. FC-650S and FC-651S are modified with humic acid monomers, further strengthening slurry suspension stability under ultra-high temperature downhole environments, so they are frequently selected for deep shale well cementing in the United States.
3. Great Formula Compatibility & Flexible Usage
All products in this composed series show good compatibility with mainstream oil well cement types and common cementing additives. Users can add the fluid loss agent alone to control filtrate volume, or combine two or three grades to optimize slurry overall performance. For example, matching FC-631S with FC-650S can significantly improve both filtrate control and anti-settlement effects in deep high-temperature wells.
After dosing, the finished cement slurry features stable fluidity, low free water content and fast early compressive strength development. There is no risk of flash setting, which guarantees safe pumping and waiting pressure maintenance in field construction.
4. Stable Physical Property & Compliant Safe Operation
Most grades appear as white to light yellow free-flowing powder, while FC-650S and FC-651S adopt humic acid modified black powder. All these polymer fluid loss additives are water-soluble, odorless and non-irritating. Complete MSDS documents are supplied to guide users on sealed storage, personal protective operation and leakage disposal. When stored in cool, dry and ventilated warehouses away from open fire and oxidants, the shelf life can reach 24 months under standard packaging conditions.
