High Temperature Suspension Fluid Loss Additive

FC-611S High Temperature Suspension Fluid Loss Additive is an AMPS/NN polymer-based oil-well cement additive designed for high-temperature cementing up to 230°C BHCT. Its non-hydrolyzable polymer structure provides strong fluid-loss control and salt tolerance, while high low-shear-rate viscosity improves slurry suspension and helps prevent cement settling and density segregation. It is suitable for deep and ultra-deep wells, high-salinity and offshore cementing, high-solids or lightweight slurries, and long seal sections, with no retarding effect and fast early strength development, including at low temperatures.

Description

product overview

FC-611S is a polymer fluid-loss additive for oil-well cement, built on an AMPS/NN copolymer backbone with non-hydrolyzable groups. Where ordinary polymers start losing grip at high temperature, the non-hydrolyzable chemistry keeps the additive effective - which is why FC-611S carries a 230 °C (BHCT) rating.

Along the chain sit dense −CONH₂, −SO₃H and −COOH adsorptive groups. They bind free water, build a tight low-permeability filter cake and pull fluid loss down - while also giving the product genuine salt tolerance in fresh-water and salt-water slurries alike.

What sets FC-611S apart from a standard high-temperature fluid-loss additive is rheology. It develops a high low-shear-rate viscosity, so cement grains and solid additives stay suspended instead of settling. The slurry keeps its homogeneity and density through the job - even at high temperature or high solid loading - while remaining fluid enough to mix and pump without trouble.

Key Benefits

  • Stable at 230 °C

Non-hydrolyzable groups keep fluid-loss control working in deep and ultra-deep wells, where bottom-hole temperatures push ordinary additives past their limit.

  • Suspension that fights settling

High low-shear-rate viscosity holds cement and solids in place. No sag, no density segregation - the slurry stays uniform all the way downhole.

  • Salt-tolerant by design

Works in fresh-water and salt-water slurry systems, including high-salinity formations and seawater-based designs offshore.

  • No retarding, fast early strength

Won't stretch thickening time, and early compressive strength develops quickly - including at low temperature - so the schedule stays on track.

  • Clean slurry behavior

Low free water, stable rheology, easy mixing on location. The system stays predictable from mix water through displacement.

  • Plays well with others

Compatible with a wide range of cementing additives - dispersants, retarders, defoamers - so it drops into an existing slurry design with minimal rework.

High Temperature Suspension Fluid Loss Additive

Applications

  • Deep & ultra-deep wells

HPHT cementing where BHCT approaches 200–230 °C and fluid-loss control must not fade with depth.

  • High-salinity & offshore

Salt-water and seawater slurries, brine formations and marine projects that punish ordinary polymers.

  • High-solids & lightweight slurries

Systems prone to settling - micro-cement, high solid content, low-density slurries that need extra suspension.

  • Long seal sections

Jobs where the slurry must stay homogeneous across a long column, from pumping to set.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What temperature is FC-611S rated for?

A: Up to 230 °C (BHCT). The polymer uses non-hydrolyzable groups so fluid-loss control holds up in hot wells where standard additives degrade.

Q: Can FC-611S be used in salt water?

A: Yes. It is designed for fresh-water and salt-water slurries, and shows good salt resistance - suited to high-salinity formations and seawater systems.

Q: Does FC-611S retard the slurry or delay strength?

A: No retarding effect. Slurry keeps its schedule, and early compressive strength develops quickly, including at low temperature.

Q: How is FC-611S packaged?

A: Standard packaging is a 25 kg three-in-one composite bag; customized packaging is available on request.

Q: Can you supply lab reports and a recommended dosage?

A: Yes. Send us your cement grade and slurry recipe - our technical team will confirm the recommended dosage and issue batch test reports with your order.
